Product Description

The Balfour Retractor is a self-retaining retractor used in surgeries to hold open large abdominal incisions, providing a clear view of the surgical site for the surgeon. This device was invented by Donald Church Balfour, a Canadian educator and surgeon.

1. Standard Balfour Retractor: Available in various sizes, including pediatric and adult options, with spreads ranging from 4 to 12 inches (10 to 30 cm). The standard retractor has a central blade that can be raised or lowered to adjust the view of the surgical field.
2. Balfour Retractor with Ratchet: Features a ratcheting mechanism to securely hold the retractor blades in place, allowing for precise adjustment and control during surgery.
3. Extra Large Balfour Retractor: Designed for obese patients or complex surgeries, this retractor has a larger spread (up to 20 inches or 51 cm) and additional blades for enhanced visibility.
